We collect: (a) Registration data, name, email, phone, company name, GST number, address, business documents, shop photographs; (b) Transaction data, listings, bids, deal amounts, invoices, certificates uploaded; (c) Usage data, pages visited, actions taken on the platform; (d) Communications, messages sent through the contact form or email.
We use your information to: operate and maintain your account; match waste listings with relevant buyers; send transactional emails (bid notifications, deal alerts, certificates); verify business credentials; calculate and display platform fees; improve the platform; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.
Seller identity is kept hidden from buyers until a deal is confirmed. After confirmation, the seller's company name, contact persons, and phone numbers are shared with the selected buyer for logistics coordination. Buyer trust scores and ratings are publicly visible on their profiles. Blacklist information is maintained privately and not disclosed to other users.
All data is stored on servers in India (Hostinger infrastructure). We implement standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. Uploaded documents (invoices, certificates, registration docs) are stored in protected directories not directly accessible to the public. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
By registering, you consent to receive transactional emails related to your account and transactions. These include: email verification, bid notifications, inspection invites, deal closure alerts, and certificate notifications. You cannot opt out of transactional emails while maintaining an active account. We do not send marketing emails without separate consent.
Documents you upload (GST certificates, business registrations, invoices, recycling certificates, photographs) are stored securely and used only for the purposes stated, account verification, deal documentation, and compliance records. We do not share these documents with third parties except as required by law.
We use session cookies to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser, but this will prevent you from logging in to the platform.
Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account plus 3 years after deletion, for legal and compliance purposes. Transaction records, invoices, and certificates are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law. You may request deletion of your account, but transaction records will be retained as required by law.
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your account; obtain a copy of your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@thescrapbridge.in. We will respond within 30 days.
We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) for email delivery. Emails sent through our platform pass through Brevo's servers. We use Hostinger for hosting infrastructure. These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with any other third parties for commercial purposes.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Amendment) Act, 2008, and applicable rules thereunder, as applicable in India.
